About Us
We are a consultancy firm specialising in CE Marking of industrial equipment and products.
CE Marking Ltd was formed by Simon Jones
who, prior to running the company full time in 2020, was the Subject Matter Expert/Technical Authority for a significant Government/MOD organisation.
Simon, a Chartered Engineer, had represented the end client across many sectors and each time realised that one of the main issues was the fear and lack of understanding of what was required to achieve compliance with the applicable legislation.
Simon had witnessed many time-consuming debates on how the legislation and standards should be applied which in turn usually led to a significant amount of unnecessary work being performed by people doing what they thought should be done, rather than what was actually required.
Simon started off ‘on the tools’
and has held senior posts within industry across various sectors including oil, gas, water, nuclear, both heavy and light industries, and also run his own SME. He can fully appreciate all aspects of both running a business and the challenges of complying with the various legislation.
In order to gain a better understanding of what the law requires, Simon embarked on a law degree, enabling him to bridge the gap between engineering and legislation.
Our aim is to remove the fear of the CE marking process for our clients and promote good engineering practices to ensure product safety.
